About Us

We opened Mount Carmel Kindergarten in a terraced house in St. Albans city centre in 1985. Since then our school has grown and we have moved twice. We are now happily settled in our purpose-built premises in Sandpit Lane which we designed ourselves. We are proud to be able to say that for more than 20 years we have provided an environment where children feel safe, happy and stimluated.

Our nursery school is very much a family concern. I manage and teach whilst my husband Franco deals with the administration. We have an excellent staff team, the majority of whom have been with us long-term. Most families hear about us through local recommendation and we are frequently reminded of our excellent reputation in the St. Albans area. In addition, we regularly have applications from abroad and have a great deal of experience with bi-lingual children. We welcome the infusion of other cultures, with the languages and traditions which they bring to the school.
