Attendance| Children may attend from when they are toilet trained (usually 2 ½ years) to 5 years old. As a general guide children whose birthdays fall between September and February will start in the September term. Children with birthdays between March and August start in January. Children are grouped according to age with a maximum of 12 per group. Within each group there is an age range of six months. Each group has their own dedicated key worker who stays with them throughout the session. Most children start in the afternoons with three sessions per week, gradually increasing to five sessions as they move up to mornings. We generally suggest a minimum attendance of three sessions per week, as less than this often slows down the period of settling in. We suggest that children do not attend other nurseries or playgroups whilst attending Mount Carmel as we feel it is detrimental to their learning and development.
