Easy Cook Playdough Recipe

This easy to make playdough recipe has been our favourite for years. We think it is the best, simplest recipe because it's quick, cheap, lasts for a long time and you can customise the colours. Handy when you get through a lot of playdough like we do at the nursery!

You’ll need:

• 2 cups of water
• 2 cups of plain flour
• 1 cup of salt
• 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil 
• 1 1/2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
• A few drops of food colouring

Steps:

Add all the ingredients into a pan and stir over a low heat. The playdough will start to come together after a few minutes. Then just allow it to cool and it’s ready to play with! 

Store it in an air tight container or zip lock bag and it should last you a couple of weeks.

Why not add some herbs, spices or other ingredients to give the playdough an interesting smell. A favourite at nursery is cocoa powder and coffee!
